Jurmala City Municipal Plan 2009–2022

Client: Jurmala City Council. 2008 to 2012.
Development of spatial plan for a city (area of 100 km2, 55’000 inhabitants) including the coordination of the spatial plan, situation analysis, evaluation of options for urban development in sectoral and geographical perspective, development of land use and building regulations, graphical part, organization and management of discussions, workshops and the process of public consultation, preparation of consultation materials, coordination of the plan with institutions and public interest groups. A web page created: www.grupa93.lv/jurmala. Detailed studies and evaluations of options for development of resorts, use of waterfront and the protection and development of historic built environment. Creation of an interactive map that was used in the work relating to zoning, cadastre, addresses, proposals, etc. There were regular working group meetings in 13 thematic working groups (public space and environment, transport, business, housing, heritage, resorts, Slokas former paper mill site development options and opportunities, water and shoreline use), consultation meetings in suburbs and discussions amongst professionals (LAS, seminar with neighboring local authorities and institutions).
